In a village there is a bridge so big that no one can see where it ends. And this bridge has a mystery: almost no one has managed to cross it. People just go as far as there's a tree and come back. Bento, a 10-year-old boy, was born in this village and is obsessed with unraveling this mystery. Everyone who comes back from the bridge asks what's on the other side. But no one ever gave that answer. Bento grows up and decides to try. He begins his journey until he arrives at the tree. There's a big hole that he needs to jump and on top of the tree there's a boy who is hiding in the shade. Bento talks to him. The boy encourages him to try. Bento manages to jump and at the end asks the boy his name. The boy comes out of the shadows and replies that his name is Dream. We see that that boy is actually the young Bento.
