Thousands of waste pickers (rubbish recyclers) in Colombia go out every night to find a way to financially survive. Without knowing it the work they do is greatly appreciated across Colombia and the public would certainly notice if the streets were dirty! At WOM we wanted to give back and to show our appreciation for everything they do.
We knew that even on Christmas Eve they would go out to work. We took advantage of this moment to make that night the best by installing mobile dining rooms in different parts of the city so that many of them had the Christmas dinner they truly deserved.
