The global gaming market is now worth 183 billion dollars – value invested, created, and held by gamers. A typical Swedish gamer holds around €500 in gaming assets, yet converting that value into real-world purchasing power remains complex, unregulated, and expensive due to high fees.

Gamers are one of the most commercially active and fastest-growing audiences in the Nordics. Yet despite being the region's largest electronic retailer, Elgiganten is not their preferred destination. Specialist gaming retailers dominate the space.

But gamers aren't short on value – they're short on access. With the new payment method, GamePay, gamers can use their gaming inventory to buy physical products in-store. No fees, no hassle.

Gamers logged in via Steam, selected items from their inventory, and paid in real-time, seamlessly, securely, and without conversion costs. GamePay launched live at DreamHack 2024 in Stockholm and in selected Elgiganten stores. In 2025, it will expand across Finland, Denmark, and Norway.
