Agreed, no idea - but actually the fact that they love the retailers MEANS they love the customers, because the customers can use the mastercard at all the different retailers.

I agree the idea is very ..uh ... not present, but even so, if the idea of this is to tell me as a consumer, that I can use Eurocard a whole lot of places (hence it is a good card to have because it is accepted almost everywhere) wouldn't it be the retailers that loved Eurocard (love here being the equivalent of accepting payment by said card).

When you say Eurocard loves the retailers, it does indeed seem like this was made as a thank you greeting for the retailers, rather than something meant to convince consumers to get a Eurocard.
