Description
very family has a gesture that feels like Christmas.
In Italy, one of the most iconic is the flour well: a mound of flour, a fist pressed in the center, eggs dropped in, then hands that turn it into dough.
This film starts from that simple gesture.
A little girl watches her grandmother make fresh pasta at home. She smiles, she gets her hands dirty, she tries to copy the movement. Nothing staged. Just a real, imperfect ritual.
Then we cut to the present.
The same girl, now an adult, is Tajamare’s sfoglina (fresh pasta maker). In the restaurant kitchen she repeats the exact gesture: flour on the table, the fist in the center, eggs falling in. What was once a childhood “Christmas game” has become her craft.
The message is quiet: Christmas isn’t a recipe. It’s a gesture that continues — from one pair of hands to another.
