Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer both in Uruguay and worldwide. Among these, melanoma stands out as the most aggressive type and, at the same time, the easiest to identify. However, despite its recognizability, many people still do not become aware of its severity and the importance of early detection.

From the Unidad Agroalimentaria Metropolitana (UAM), we launched "Pieles", a campaign to raise awareness and prevent skin cancer. This initiative draws a parallel between the typical spots on fruits and vegetables that influence our food choices and the spots that can appear on our skin due to sun exposure. The campaign emphasizes the importance of taking precautions and following recommendations to take care of our skin, just as we carefully select our food.

The Unidad Agroalimentaria Metropolitana (UAM) is the largest Logistics Pole for food marketing in Latin America and is located in Uruguay. The UAM represents a modern example in the wholesale market sector, with various initiatives and services related to the agri-food sector.
