Description
As of March 2021, the total number of patients waiting for organ donation in Korea was 42,281, and statistics showed that an average of 5.8 people a day died while waiting for organ donation. The K-league has been conducting campaigns to encourage organ donation since 2016. However, COVID-19 has prevented normal activities, and face-to-face campaigns to encourage organ donation have become difficult, so the organ donation application rate has decreased by more than 25% compared to last year.
We created 'Save Uniform' by attaching patches in the form of representative organs for donation to another uniform. It's a uniform which symbolizes that organ donation becomes one with another person and makes the heartbeat. We collected and recycled uniform fabric to create the Save Uniform, adding to the original purpose of organ donation. Also, we added the number of patients waiting for organ donation to convey the grave situation of lack of donations. On May 12, 2021 the players wore the Save Uniform and had a more meaningful game than ever.
