Gender-based violence during Carnival, a period in which there is an increase in cases of sexual harassment and harassment against women. In this context, the motto of SEMUL's 2023 carnival campaign emerges: PEDIU PRA PARAR, PAROU! With this message, we want to use a term directly related to samba schools – icons of Brazilian culture. We associate our important message with something everyday, characteristic of the environment in which our campaign will be positioned. The presence of the Women's Secretariat at the Christmas Carnival is a public call and a warning to all of society to be active in the fight to end violence against women in any space.
