Description
If This Is Not Us... What Is?
The Public House & EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, one of Ireland's leading visitor attractions, have launched a new campaign that asks a seemingly simple question: What does it really mean to be Irish?
Spoiler alert… There isn't one definition of what Irish is, so we wrote hundreds.
Rolling out across OOH, print and radio, ‘Irish is…’ is an expansive exploration and celebration of Irish identity, built around hundreds of original thoughts on what it means to be Irish.
Most people put six words on the back of a bus, we wrote an ode to Irish emigration. The campaign is a celebration of copywriting craft. Some headlines beam with joy. Some are laced with sorrow. Some are outrageous, hilarious or provocative. Others deliberately just down right confusing. Together a rich story unfolds of emigration, global influence and Irish history- with the radio leaving lumps in people's throats since the script was first conceived.
This work is another example of the agency’s anti-formula approach to building attention grabbing work that is in line with their philosophy that ‘Boring Doesn’t Sell’. The independent creative agency works with a diverse portfolio of ambitious clients including FBD Insurance, Irish Defence Forces, 48 Mobile, Trócaire and Fáilte Ireland.
This professional campaign titled 'Irish is... ' was published in Ireland in July, 2026. It was created for the brand: EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, by ad agency: The Public House.
