Deer is the new deal!

CAKE.com, the software company behind Clockify, launched a humorous campaign to promote its special Bundle deal.

Selling a bundle of really young productivity tools with low visibility is structurally difficult. You’re not pushing a single video feature, you’re asking people to care about an ecosystem they don’t fully understand.

So we didn’t try to solve that. Because if the product is hard to explain, explanation won’t sell it – but attention might. That’s why we replaced clarity with absurdity. Introduced a deer. Let him narrate the deal, then let everything go from there.

The execution was a deliberately trashy video, with 8-bit, low-fi, almost irritating visual language. A catchy, slightly annoying tune that carries more memory than the message. And a narrative escalation that goes nowhere useful, fast. Midway through, a deadpan testimonial.

No feature breakdowns. No proof points. And that was our point. Because in a category where everything sounds the same, coherence is overrated. Memorability isn’t.
