This 30 second spot is SoLo Funds' first commercial. It doesn't follow any traditional commercial creation norms. It's not directed by a big industry talent or produced by an agency. It was homemade, homegrown, and relies on the community and features the community just like SoLo Funds as a company.
SoLo was looking for an authentic way to showcase the brand, the vision and the mission of the business which is provide an alternative solution to short term loans so that instead of predatory payday lenders, folks can look to community members who might have extra cash and be willing to make a loan.
CEO Rodney Williams said "For us it was about showing authentic self but also showing our authentic voice. We called in favors for the attire, my co-founder Travis and I styled everyone, a friend took the pics, and we even had some employees in the commercial itself".
This was truly the community coming together to create a powerful and emotional commercial about lifting each other up and community driven finance.
