I consider myself to be somewhat of an animal activist. I enjoy looking at advertisements that promote animal conservation and animal well-being. I think this particular advertisement does just that. This is a touchy subject in our society—the polar bear and the lack of resources. People have been debating rather global warming is taking place. However, there is no way of knowing for sure. Another possibility is that the environment is changing again (just as it did during the last ice age). One thing is definitely happening and that is that the polar bears (and other animals living in cold climates) are suffering because their habitats are diminishing. This advertisement brings awareness to that. However, I believe that this add has a downfall. The question that I have is how exactly does this organization help the polar bear by me liking this add on Facebook? It would be nice if there was a brief sentence explaining how the “like” function on Facebook is contributing to the saving of the polar bear and its habitat (if that is what this advertisement is doing).
