Heinz is elevating the Christmas table to a new level of taste and heart with It’s Heinz Season, its first-ever regional campaign created by BBDO Bangkok and BBDO Guerrero, launching simultaneously in Thailand and the Philippines. This milestone collaboration unites two of Southeast Asia’s most creative markets under one story that celebrates the region’s deep passion for food and the emotional bond people share with Heinz.
In both Thailand and the Philippines, food is a point of national pride—every bite must earn that pride, and if something doesn’t taste right, people would rather not eat at all. During Christmas, when Western dishes often dominate the table, true food lovers simply refuse to begin their meal unless Heinz is present. It’s more than preference; it’s an “irrational love” for the thick, rich, unmistakably authentic taste of Heinz.
Built on this insight, the campaign centres on a simple truth: for devoted Heinz lovers, Christmas dinner doesn’t begin until Heinz arrives. The film unfolds in a warm, festive home on Christmas Eve. The table is filled with dishes that reflect Southeast Asia’s love of Western flavours—home-made sausages, hand-cut fries, crispy lumpia, grilled Filipino barbecue, fresh salad, and an imperfectly perfect homemade pizza. The family gathers for grace, the prayer ends, and yet no one moves. A quiet tension fills the room as they wait.
A slow pan reveals an empty chair. The doorbell rings. Faces brighten. The family rushes to greet the older son in what feels like a long-awaited reunion—until the mother reaches into his bag and pulls out a bottle of Heinz Ketchup. That’s the real homecoming.
Once Heinz hits the table, time seems to slow: thick, glossy ketchup spreads over fries, drips down barbecue sticks, coats pizza, and glistens on golden spring rolls. Joy returns instantly—laughter, clinking glasses, movement, and celebration.
For those who truly love food, Christmas doesn’t begin with the meal. It begins with Heinz.
