The Lost Colour

Agency: Davies Meyer

Description

2025 was a very tough and turbulent year. Global crises, rising living costs and economic uncertainty are painting an increasingly bleak picture of the future. How can an institution such as Alpina Farben, the leading brand for wall paints, enamels and glazes, share a truly encouraging message during the festive season?

Deep down inside each and every one of us, we all long for a loving, contemplative and peaceful Christmas. But outer pressures as well as the usual holiday stress often make it a difficult balancing act. To overcome this, one key element is needed above all else...

The short film ‘The Lost Colour’ tells the emotional story of a boy whose parents lost their farm due to difficult circumstances. The settling into their new surroundings proves hard for the family as all the warm shades seem to have disappeared. The child is deeply upset because he senses the profound change. In the night before Christmas, the boy's teddy bear comes to life and sets off in search of the lost colour. He quickly realises that with every loving gesture, the warmth returns to the house. And that in the end, it is love that overcomes all obstacles and creates a true Christmas miracle.
