Kirkdilim: The Final Tour / Long Film
Description
Since its debut in 2010, the BMW S 1000 RR has been the benchmark for cornering performance, born from BMW Motorrad’s World Superbike Championship heritage. In 2024, its latest generation pushed this legacy further-engineered for pure performance in the corners.
To prove this in the most authentic way, BMW Motorrad Türkiye avoided racetracks and chose Kırkdilim Pass, one of Turkey’s most dangerous and technically demanding mountain roads on the Çorum–Osmancık route. Named after its 40 perilous curves, the road was about to close permanently, making it the perfect setting for one final ride.
A former BMW Motorrad racing pilot rode the S 1000 RR on the most challenging section of the pass, identified using historical accident data. The ride was captured in a 4:40 film blending archival footage with the final tour.
Using the BMW Motorrad Connected App, real-time performance data-speed, altitude, distance, and lean angle was recorded and mapped to each curve, creating an interactive Kırkdilim Ride Data Map on BMW Motorrad Türkiye’s website.
The campaign generated strong engagement, wide media coverage, and pride among locals, while even attracting interest from riders of competing brands—ensuring the S 1000 RR left its mark on Kırkdilim before the road disappeared forever.
