Crosswalk Accident Chart. Fatal and injury accidents over the past decade.
Where the graph meets the crosswalk
Description
What if a pedestrian crossing could tell the story of every accident that happened on it?
In Tuzla, Istanbul, the stripes of a crosswalk were transformed into a living accident chart. Each line visualizes ten years of crashes where pedestrians were injured or killed — over 20,000 across Turkey. Instead of ordinary white paint, the crossing itself became a striking infographic, forcing drivers and pedestrians to confront the reality of road safety.
By merging data with design, this campaign turned a familiar street element into a life-saving reminder: Stop at the crosswalk, stop the accidents. It’s not just a warning — it’s a call to action for safer cities.
This professional campaign titled 'Stop at the Crosswalk, Stop the Accidents' was published in Turkey in September, 2025. It was created for the brand: Tuzla Municipality, by ad agency: Concept. This Ambient, Design, and Experiential media campaign is related to the Automotive and Personal Transportation, Media, and Public Interest industries and contains 4 media assets. It was submitted 2 months ago by Creative Group Head // Art Director: Mehmet Demirel of TBWA Istanbul.
