Description
Snow, Speed & Driven Women - but handcrafted!
Oysho Lodge is a cosy stop-motion film that extends the brand’s ski campaign into a more intimate, cinematic take. Designed as a seasonal sign-off, it celebrates Christmas with the brand’s community.
In a season where most brands shout, Oysho Lodge leans in: a cherished moment of two friends experiencing the mountains together. What starts as a light-hearted “are you ready?” turns into a spirited chase, Alex more focused and competitive, Carmen calm and quietly confident, overtaking with a wink rather than a fight. And they’re not alone! Bruno, a Saint Bernard in a tiny Oysho beanie, brings the warmth. The film signs off with a felt-stitched “Happy Holidays”, then loops back to the top of the run.
“BOL & Device’s interpretation of the Ski Campaign had a tone of voice that fit the brand very well; the product and the brand’s entire visual world were replicated with great fidelity.” - Clara Riera Fabregas, Project Manager at Oysho
A Festive World You Can Almost Touch
We led the creative direction from concept to final frame, building a visual language that feels both precise and playful. The brief was about keeping Oysho’s performance story front and centre, told through something tactile and human.
Everything you see is needle-felted wool: characters, slopes, lodge - down to the “Happy Holidays” title card! That softness sits in deliberate contrast with the technicality of the garments, turning ski gear into something you can almost feel through the screen. Warm, sharp in detail, and built to move.
The skiers are built strong, expressive and designed intentionally to showcase Oysho’s ski pieces in action. Each miniature outfit is crafted by hand, replicating real garments at scale, from stitching to colour blocking, so product fidelity stays sharp in every frame.
The “no-makeup makeup” styling stays true to the brand universe: clean and fresh, with an effortless everyday aesthetic. It’s a ‘soft’ (snowy) spot, about women who move, play and own the mountain on their own terms!
Sports-film Energy, Crafted For Social
The camera language borrows from sports films: POV shots that put you on the skis, super-zooms that catch a gesture in a second, and cuts designed to grab attention in a social feed. Those dynamic beats alternate with close-ups where the tiny details fill the frame with intricate craftsmanship.
Production
For a one-month schedule, we pushed the animation ambitiously - prioritising rhythm, physicality and a sense of speed, and building in layers of complexity well beyond the initial brief.
“From the outset, the clarity of the entire process and the strong organisation of the different phases made the production very smooth for our team. The initial sketches and character development helped us greatly visualise the final result from the beginning...” - Clara Riera Fabregas, Project Manager at Oysho
Storyboard and character development ran in parallel. A boardomatic let us stress-test timing, gags and action beats early, ensuring the story held up before any sets were built. In pre-production, working with physical samples, textures, and finishes helped us lock decisions quickly and avoid unnecessary iteration.
Every woman has her own way of experiencing the mountain. Oysho is there for all of them!
