Inequity is perhaps the most serious problem in education worldwide. In Mongolia, this problem occurs mostly in schools located in rural and impoverished urban areas.
As Mongolia's largest telecommunications company, we have initiated and implemented our “SMART EDUCATION” project to reach children who have limited opportunities out there. The value and core of our project align with only one purpose: Regardless of the causes of inequity, every child has the right to a “whole” education.
This PSA attracted public attention by realistically depicting the abstract concept of "Educational inequity" and was able to garner the views of one-third of Mongolia's population, which was just the beginning of our project.
Within the framework of this project, we have provided 12,500 students from eight schools in remote areas with digital classrooms (which consist of tablets, VR, and high-speed internet), starting from the northernmost part of Mongolia, 1,020 km away. As a result of this project, students' grades in science increased by 24%, English by 11% and mathematics by 10.5%.
