Task:
Our task was to spread awareness about local barbershop in a meaningful way. Not only posting instagram stories with nice haircuts.
Strategy:
Tick-borne diseases are issue in Slovakia. For last year we have been breaking records in cases of Encephalitis and Lyme borreliosis. Ticks attack mostly men in parks and woods. One of the places where ticks attach is skin on the head hidden underneath the hair. Keeping your hair short is an easy prevention.
We used this issue as a topic for promoting a local barbershop during summer. We came up with easy prevention that everybody had overlooked. Cutting hair short. Hikers may be attacked by ticks very easily. So, we decided to offer them a haircut directly on their hike in the woods and promote the barbershop through a live experience event. During one weekend, we opened the first pop-up barbershop directly next to the hiking trial outside of the Slovak capital city Bratislava.
Outcome:
Event caught the attention of people and media. Barbers gained new regular customers and a lot of positive feedback from local community.
