Audi Australia has launched ‘Fluent in Both’, a new brand platform for its Audi e-hybrid range, led by the new Q5 plug-in hybrid. Created by Apparent, the campaign is built around the idea that while most cars speak only one language, the Q5 e-hybrid speaks two, operating in 100% electric mode for city driving before seamlessly switching to petrol power for longer journeys without the need to think about charging.
Directed by Scott Pickett of Scoundrel, the hero film brings this idea to life through a driver who effortlessly switches between English and German as the vehicle transitions between its two drivetrains. The multilingual performance mirrors the car’s dual capabilities, while Studio Tonic’s sound design reinforces the contrast by moving from near-silent electric driving to the distinctive note of the petrol engine. The lead actor was cast for genuine fluency to ensure the transitions felt natural and authentic.
Launching across film, out-of-home, social and digital, the campaign establishes a platform that will support Audi’s wider plug-in hybrid range. Apparent says the creative offers a more distinctive approach in a crowded category by focusing on the seamless balance between electric and petrol performance, while Audi Australia positions the Q5 e-hybrid as one of its most significant model launches and a reflection of the brand’s engineering heritage in the evolving EV era.
