With the release of the final season of Squid Game on Netflix, we decided to close the story from a place where the game isn’t fiction. We found that setting in Calamar, Bolívar, a riverside town on the Río Magdalena, between Barranquilla and Cartagena—a territory shaped by history, contrast, and resilience. Here, where the Canal del Dique once powered trade, a community now lives that faces daily challenges with creativity, humor, and dignity. We turned that reality into the stage for the finale: it wasn’t just a teaser—it was a cultural moment. Because in Colombia, Squid Game is played every single day. And this finale didn’t celebrate a TV show. It celebrated a people who survive, carve their own paths, and keep smiling—even when real life feels more intense than fiction.
