Description
Dunkin’ is adding some star power to its fall campaign, bringing together Spice Girls Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton and Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell-Horner with comedian and former Saturday Night Live star Rachel Dratch. The new commercial introduces a fictional sixth Spice Girl, “Pumpkin Spice,” played by Dratch, whose devotion to the seasonal flavour takes her from pop stardom to a career making lattes.
The ad sees Baby Spice and Ginger Spice reminiscing about their mysterious former bandmate, recalling her signature choreography, pumpkin-inspired hits and obsession with the fall favourite. Years after leaving the music world behind, Pumpkin Spice reunites with the pair over Dunkin’s seasonal drinks and attempts to make a musical comeback.
Dratch anchors the campaign with her comedic take on the fictional pop star, drawing on her Massachusetts roots and playful connection to the brand’s fall offering. The campaign builds on the return of Dunkin’s pumpkin beverages and bakery favourites, which launched nationwide on August 19.
To celebrate the campaign, Dunkin’ is also offering customers a free medium Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte with a qualifying purchase on September 8 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at participating locations. The promotion can be redeemed in-store or through the Dunkin’ mobile app.
