There are relationships that are not defined by blood ties, but by something even stronger. In the Greek neighborhood we grew up in, where we knew everyone by their first name, at the local kiosk, the corner shop. Those simple “good mornings” and quick pass-bys were part of our everyday life, small things that ultimately connected people. And within all of that, there was also care. People who knew us, looked out for us, and genuinely cared, in a quiet but steady way. And throughout it all, somewhere in the background of our years, Amita was always there. Something familiar that felt like it had always been part of our lives.
