I was ready to rip this ad but then I ended up reading the whole damn copy and now here I am, stuck with having learned a thing or two about lipsticks. damn.

Mr. Ogilvy would be delighted. I'm really impressed by this ad; think it's great in both ways – graphically and textually.

Let me get my glasses - oh wait, most people won't take the time to read the copy....
According to krautland there is a lot of interesting information in the spread - I'm glad to hear it - but an ad is not intended to be read like an article.
Even if it has a bright red background, you are asking too much if you expect people to read something this detailed when it is intended to sell a product.
Overshot - put it into a novel ;)

dude, it's for a magazine that claims to give you all the details. it couldn't be more on strategy if they had nailed it to it. long copy is appropriate for some clients.

Nice idea. Overwhelming the space with information most people wouldn't care to know about a common product sells the tag. If the reader just sort of scans the body copy without fully reading it and just let his eyes wander over the subheads and down to the tag, the message of giving "the full story" would get through. Pretty good.
