Women Taking Space

Agency: Starfish

Description

‘Women Taking Space’ for e.l.f. Cosmetics, out of Starfish Projects. The shorts profile three women in the space program pondering topics such as whether there is life underneath the icy surface of the Europa moon. Defying norms in cosmetics advertising, the real-people campaign was edited by BANDIT editor Robin Burchill--an award-winning editor who specializes in films starring real people.

Far from the glitzy environments ubiquitous in cosmetics ads, the films capture real female scientists discussing the futuristic questions of their field, while sporting ELF cosmetics in a low-key way. The scientists display curiosity and intelligence concerning their work surrounding the Europa Clipper, a spacecraft studying the surface of that moon – where life could potentially be discovered.
