Description
Mav 28th is World Menstrual Hygiene Day and is usually dedicated towards highlighting the importance of good menstrual hygiene management at a global level. But in Sri Lanka, women face a wider range of social, economical, cultural problems that interfere with a normal biological event.
The Arka Initiative is a grassroots organisation aimed at ending period poverty in Sri Lanka. They came to us with a problem: "how do we address these issues, when Sri Lankans are too ashamed to even speak of it?" We decided to use art as a communication tool to speak of facts. And encouraged a nation to speak through art themselves.
This professional campaign titled 'Unsanitary Tales' was published in Sri Lanka in May, 2022. It was created for the brand: The Arka Initiative, by ad agencies: Leo Burnett and Publicis Groupe.
