Tiramisu Overnight Oats

Agency: Thingy & Thingy

Description

Probiotic breakfast brand Oat Cult is turning a dessert favourite into breakfast with the launch of Tiramisu Oat Cult, its latest limited-edition overnight oats flavour.

Launching exclusively to Oat Cult members, Tiramisu combines a hit of real decaf coffee with cocoa and creamy oats, delivering the familiar sweet-and-bitter combination of the classic Italian dessert (without pretending that overnight oats are actually tiramisu).

Tiramisu launches on 5th October 2026 exclusively at oatcult.com for Oat Cult members, with a free 60g pack included in their next delivery. The limited-edition flavour is priced at £2.20 RRP, or £1.60 per pack for subscribers, with general sale through select retail partners and Amazon later in the year. The launch is built around a simple idea: breakfast doesn’t have to taste “healthy”.

Tiramisu is the latest example of Oat Cult’s approach to flavour innovation, as the brand looks to stand out in an increasingly crowded breakfast category where brands are often competing on protein, macros and functional claims.

Ben da Costa, Founder of Oat Cult commented:
“We know it’s not tiramisu - it’s overnight oats. But add a dollop of yoghurt and you get that coffee flavour, the chocolate hit and that delicious combination of bitter and sweet. That’s what we wanted to recreate. We used real decaf coffee rather than a coffee flavouring, which stops it tasting like a syrup. The brief was to keep it healthy but exciting and indulgent. Still a proper breakfast, still a billion live cultures in every pack, but it tastes like you’ve got away with something.”

To launch the new flavour, Oat Cult has made a new brand film, created by independent anti-advertising agency Thingy & Thingy® and directed by Mike Upson (MindsEye). The film takes Oat Cult to 15th-century Italy in a black-and-white tale of devotion, sacrifice and dangerously good oats.

Set in 15th-century Italy, the film introduces a most peculiar hole in the ground. People sacrifice the things they love to it and, in return, it spews coffee-and-chocolate overnight oats straight into the faces of the increasingly devoted crowd.

Thingy & Thingy® brings the brand’s name to life through ritual, obsession and indulgence, putting its newest flavour at the centre of a black-and-white spectacle. The period horror treatment creates a dramatically absurd world that is unmistakably Oat Cult, playing on a simple promise: some overnight oats demand sacrifice. Oat Cult does not.

da Costa, said:
"I spent twenty years as a creative before I made oats, and not writing this myself was harder than I'd like to admit. But backing creative people, whether that's agencies, animators or someone making things in their bedroom, is part of what Oat Cult is for, and watching other people bring this world to life has been a joy. When I read the script, I knew my baby was in safe hands. Then they pushed it into a hole. I've still not had it back."

Darren & Thais, founders and creative directors, Thingy&Thingy added:
“We could speak to the dedication and application it takes to create art. The cinematography. The casting. The direction. The vision. But we won't. Because this film is about a disgusting hole that devours life in return for delicious tiramisu overnight oats, which it spews into a kid's face. Which is a little more shart than art. Go figure.

We had a gut feeling our relationship with Oat Cult was going to be something special. Maybe it was the 1 billion live cultures they're continuously pumping into our stomachs, or maybe it was because they are a brand with ambition to make entertaining work. Either way, our guts are happy for it.”

Mike Upton, Director of the film said:
“It’s actually quite refreshing to be told by an agency to make a piece of art direction ‘more butthole-like.’ That kind of sums up the whole process really. It was all about making the absolute best - or strangest - creative decision and pushing that as far as we could go, especially when that took us to surprising, weird and gross places. Namely the middle of the woods, directing children, animals and a crop of Italian medieval peasants.”

Social-first creative studio Lukewarm handled social and creator for the launch, lining up comedy creators like @MrJamesBertie and @CamFitzh as well as health and fitness creators who posted reaction videos.

The brand film reflects Oat Cult’s wider ambition to build a distinctive world around breakfast, rather than simply compete within the functional food category. The launch also sees Oat Cult collaborate with artist Hackney Dave (Dave Buonaguidi), with selected Cult members receiving a signed and numbered A5 print created for the launch.

The new flavour comes as tiramisu continues to dominate menus and food culture. Great British Chefs has named it its dessert of choice for the year, while Tastewise data shows tiramisu appearing on almost 15% more UK menus year-on-year. The trend has moved beyond restaurant menus, with dedicated tiramisu shops appearing in London and a Guinness World Record attempt for the longest tiramisù taking place at Chelsea Old Town Hall earlier this year.

For Oat Cult, putting the flavour into a breakfast bowl was a natural next step. The recipe has been through 30 iterations, with the
