The war is over. Mine is still going on.

Agency: Illumineye Communications LLP

Description

For the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, we created a poster to convey the lingering danger of landmines even after conflicts end.

A bold red background symbolizes danger and urgency. Black and white footprints show a transition: the black footprints indicate a person walking, while the white footprints symbolize the loss of a limb after stepping on a landmine. A single missing footprint visually communicates the devastating impact of landmines.

The copy reads, "The war ended years ago. MINE is still going on." It is a clever wordplay on "mine" that purposely has two connotations: first, it refers to a landmine and second, it suggests personal suffering that continues for the victim. It highlights that landmines continue to harm people long after conflicts have ended.

In this poster, we have tried to employ the art of visual storytelling, emotional appeal, and concise messaging to drive awareness about the ongoing danger of landmines.
