Traditions rule high in the consciousness of Bengali households. Age-old traditions get to blend in the faith, belief, rituals, and fun associated with it, that too spanning generations. It is of little wonder; an elderly Bengali couple despite failing health will never like to miss out on the tradition of lighting candles, all over the house, on the day of the Indian Hindu festival of Diwali. A ritual that signifies the spread of positivity through the warmth of the flickering candle lights, and also where family members get to immerse in the joy of lighting up the house, with everyone’s participation.
The creative has the conversation of an elderly husband and wife, where despite the husband’s concern about his wife’s troubled knee, the wife’s wish not to miss out on the tradition of lighting up the home’s terrace, prompts the husband to join her as well.
