The Swedish animation and production studio 'Filmic Animation' directed, designed, produced, and animated a full CGI film for the amusement park 'Gröna Lund'. The film is about a spider dancing around inside the park while building the latest ride with its web. Released broadly for the upcoming spring opening of the park – also in cinemas! A big part of the process was character design.
Together with Parks & Resorts, Filmic Animation searched for that delicate balance – cute, yet slightly creepy. The solution? More human-like movement patterns, letting some legs stay still like a ballerina skirt or silhouette, while others took on the role of arms and legs. Cute, right?
