2023 has been the hottest year on record. Despite witnessing such sweltering temperatures, people still don’t realise how their micro actions can help mitigate the disasters of climate change. Choosing trains over cars can help contribute to 76% less CO₂ emissions individually – a micro action with a vast impact.
Trainline is committed towards motivating travellers in the UK and the EU to make a more sustainable switch to rail. However, many older millennials with disposable incomes still prefer taking cross-country leisure trips by car. Our outdoor campaign uses local data and photojournalism to hypertarget these individuals on their travel routes – raising awareness around the shocking impact of climate change. We strategically place our ads opposite gas stations along the highways, urging them to take the hassle-free rail route instead.
