LYNX (AXE) and LOLA Madrid have unveiled ‘Birth’, the latest chapter in the brand’s ‘The Power of a Fragrance’ platform, continuing its series of surreal comedy films that explore the irresistible effects of scent. Following previous instalments set during a robbery and a funeral, the new spot takes the concept to a hospital delivery room, where a woman in labour becomes unexpectedly captivated by the fragrance of a slightly awkward medical assistant.
Directed by Lionel Goldstein, the film follows the woman as her attention drifts away from the intensity of childbirth and toward the assistant, leaving her partner and the medical team increasingly confused. The story builds toward an absurd and unexpected conclusion, using exaggerated humour to demonstrate the brand’s central message that a great scent can transform any situation, no matter how unlikely.
Part of AXE’s effort to reconnect with younger audiences, ‘Birth’ embraces a cinematic, streaming-inspired style that favours bold comedy over realism.
