Rotten Tomatoes hopes all your gifts this year are Certified Fresh.

And to help make sure they are, they worked with Superconductor, the award-winning creative agency and branded entertainment studio founded by Hollywood directors The Russo Brothers, to launch a new holiday-themed ad for The Rotten Tomatoes mobile app.

The spot is the first in a series of new ads that will focus on specific features and benefits of the app to help fans discover what to watch and where to watch it. The new ad spot is currently airing across TV, digital, and social channels.

Featuring a cute, 3-D animated caribou with a red tomato for a nose, the ad informs viewers that, “If you’re looking for a heartwarming holiday movie, The Rotten Tomatoes App has what to watch, and where to watch it.” The caribou then sneezes its tomato nose off and we see it splat into a smart phone as an on-screen text reads, “Download the Rotten Tomatoes App.”

“The holidays are the perfect time for families to come together and enjoy great films and TV series,” said Superconductor’s co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Chris Adams. ‘And the recurring question is always, “what should we watch?” We wanted to let people know that the answer is waiting for them on the Rotten Tomatoes App.’”

The Rotten Tomatoes app brings everything fans know and love, from thousands of movie and TV discovery pages, Tomatometer and Popcornmeter scores, critic and audience reviews, celebrity interviews, trailers, entertainment news and more, all wrapped into an intuitive, mobile-friendly format. The app also creates a space for fans to curate personal watchlists, leave ratings and reviews, and share their favorites, while following other trusted voices on their social feed. Fans can playfully let their voices be heard by posting Tomojis, Rotten Tomatoes’ take on popular reactive icons.

The app also includes aRTi (currently in beta), Rotten Tomatoes’ official AI assistant, that serves as a trusted guide to find movie and TV scores, see where content is streaming or available for purchase, and receive personalized recommendations based on interest.

Rotten Tomatoes has been the cornerstone of entertainment discovery and recommendation for over 25 years, attracting 35MM monthly unique visitors and connecting them to the films and television shows they adore. The Rotten Tomatoes app is available now to download on the iOS App Store and on the Google Play Store.
