Riding into the past

Description

This film wasn’t commissioned. It wasn’t made for a client or a competition.
It was crafted by a 17-year-old filmmaker as part of a personal project at Genesis College, the school where he learns to explore his passions through creative ideas.
And yet, it carries the kind of emotional weight and visual storytelling that stays with you.
At first glance, it’s about a man and his motorcycle.
But as the story unfolds, you realize it’s about something deeper, a bond.
Between a father and his boy who’s been quietly observing him for years.
A boy who, at 11, started exploring and filming with all kinds of cameras and drones, and continued ever since.
A young creator who's teaching himself, project by project, how to turn passion into purpose.
That young filmmaker is Ștefan.
And I’m the man in the film.
When he showed it to me, I didn’t know what to expect. What I saw was more than a gift.
It was a quiet declaration of trust, of respect, and of shared passion, even if expressed in different forms.
We often talk about how relationships built on trust can shape confidence, character, and the kind of purpose-driven people the world needs more of.
Here’s a living, breathing example.
And a reminder that sometimes, the stories worth telling are the ones closest to home.
