Google has partnered with AKQA Berlin, in collaboration with celebrated German indie-pop band Provinz, for their latest campaign for Android called, “Provinz tanzt aus der Reihe mit Android.”
Conceptualized and executed by AKQA, the campaign consists of a series of short films, directed by India Harris (Production Company: Akkurat, Berlin), across social, featuring the German indie-pop band Provinz. Designed natively for how a younger target audience creates and consumes, the films and audio ads blend culture and technology to show that real creativity begins when you do things differently.
Through Android’s AI-powered features, Gemini Live, Gemini Live Video, and the latest functionality connecting Gemini directly with Spotify, each film captures sparks of inspiration that reflect a generation’s desire for freedom and self-expression.
In collaboration with Provinz, Android reimagines a traditional waltz through a modern lens. The band’s hit “Walzer” becomes a metaphor for a generation that refuses to fit in; reinventing not only themselves, but the culture around them. From a moshpit to a rave to a modern couple’s take, each interpretation shows what happens when creativity moves without a script.
Living where Gen Z spends its time: vertical, social, and native, the campaign places Provinz at the center, with Android quietly enhancing the craft behind the scenes.
