Description
Last year 41 million Americans got sick with flu, and 490,000 were hospitalized. Yet despite those figures, less than half of all people in the U.S. received a flu vaccine, even though it can reduce the risk of hospitalization by 40% in adults and 50% in children.
The Ad Council, American Medical Association (AMA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and CDC Foundation launched their annual flu vaccination campaign with new public service advertisements (PSAs) encouraging people to get vaccinated against seasonal flu to protect themselves and their loved ones.
This year’s “Play Defense Against Flu” campaign, developed pro-bono by Madwell, includes a new PSA that uses humor to showcase how the antibodies produced by a flu vaccination protect individuals, their loved ones, and the wider community from the flu.
