Breast cancer is proven to be genetically inheritable, meaning that if a mother gets it, 80% chances that her daughter will as well. This book imagines what vows a girl, as a mom-to-be, would make to her future daughter. This girl reflects on her own experience as someone who spent teenage years without her mother, who went through chemotherapy for breast cancer and was absent from most parts of her teenage years. Just because a girl might end up like her mom doesn’t mean her future daughter would have to grow up in the absence of a mother’s company like she did.
