Local Heroes
Description
The word “heroes” is a bit of a misnomer. According to research and interviews, first responders don’t consider themselves to be such; they’re just doing the job they were put on this planet to do. They give their all on the scenes of crashes, in the ER, and as liaisons to families and loved ones. But what comes before the crash? What could have been done to prevent it?
Our move: With this annual campaign, we once again break the Virginia DMV out of the PSA mold by using emotionally powerful stop-motion photography to narrate the all-too-common tragedy experienced by responders across the Commonwealth. The best way to honor them? Make life-saving decisions before you hit the gas.
