To showcase Philips Ambilight TVs, Norwegian agency POL transformed Oslo’s Stortinget subway station into a full-scale demonstration for Nordic electronics retailer HiFi Klubben.

Philips Ambilight extends the colors from the TV screen onto the surrounding walls in realtime. Instead of explaining the feature in a traditional ad, POL recreated the effect at city scale using JCDecaux’s new X-Track digital screens at one of Norway’s busiest subway stations.

The installation took over both sides of the platform-facing screens. One side displayed
cinematic footage filled with shifting colors, while the opposite side mirrored those same colors in real time — just like Ambilight does at home.

As trains arrived at the platform, the white subway cars became the wall behind the TV.
Colors spilled across the carriages and beyond the screens, turning the entire station into an immersive living room experience.

Located just steps away from a HiFi Klubben store, the one-day activation transformed an ordinary commute into a full-scale product demonstration, without ever showing the TV itself.
