In Mexico, 1 out of every 4 people is in a situation of poverty and suffers from lack of food. Ironically, every year the loss and waste of good food amounts to more than 20 million tons. A figure that represents almost 34% of the food produced in Mexico, and the worst thing is that a good part of these foods are wasted just because of their appearance, even though their nutritional properties are intact.
Fortunately, BAMX exists, a CSO that rescues food throughout the entire value chain to take it to families, communities and institutions that need it. And although they have been doing it for years, many Mexicans still do not know their heroism.
