Rimowa

Engineered for Life

Agency: Anomaly

Description

For well over a century, RIMOWA has cemented its position as a leader in the world of travel, a feat owed to the timeless design and expert craftsmanship behind its mobility tools. Now, the German Maison is proud to present its latest campaign ‘Engineered for Life’, celebrating the foundational values that define its legacy and the resulting companionship embedded within each of its creations.

With the iconic Original collection in focus, the dynamic campaign looks to the enduring bond between purposeful travellers and their cherished RIMOWA suitcases, taking viewers on a journey through their evolution.

The campaign kicks off with the cases’ beginnings in RIMOWA’s historical factory in Cologne as they pass through the expert hands of the Maison’s craftspeople, then chronicles their way to their owners who proudly bear the marks of their journeys—dents, scratches, and stickers. ‘Engineered for Life’, as directed by the duo rubberband., goes on to proudly showcase RIMOWA’s dedicated technicians at the Maison’s repair centres who reaffirm the brand’s unwavering commitment to crafting lifelong companions and to sustaining its lifetime guarantee. The campaign film is accompanied by imagery captured by photographers Sarah van Rij and David van der Leeuw, who mirror the brand’s most distinctive design code, the renowned grooves, with the real world to showcase and celebrate a life well-travelled.

The campaign is set to the iconic New Order track “Blue Monday” whose energy, composition and dynamism drive the films and make you want to move, whilst the layers of instrumentation almost feel like a piece of engineering in themselves, echoing the factory and repair centre sounds to create something special.
