JOAN and eBay Motors have teamed up to create Drive to Silverstone, a two-part original content series that blends docu-style storytelling with the energy of McLaren Formula 1 Team.
Launched June 30, the second short-form social film continues the global partnership between eBay and the McLaren Formula 1 Team to spotlight real stories from the global car community.
The film brings a human lens to automotive passion, capturing how real people prepare for the moments that matter most, both on and off the track.
The full series is timed to key races on the McLaren Formula 1 Team calendar, including stops in Miami (May), Silverstone (June), Monza (September), and Las Vegas (November) — each film spotlighting a different voice within the global car community.
“The Drive To” series uncovers the stories of passionate communities that congregate around the McLaren Formula 1 Team - whether their love of car culture is just blossoming or decades old. Directed by Siri Bunford of Knucklehead and spearheaded by JOAN London, The Drive to Silverstone follows Aiden — a McLaren Formula 1 Team superfan — on his drive to his and McLaren's home race, Silverstone. Along the way, we uncover what drives his love of cars, the McLaren Formula 1 Team, and F1 as a whole, as well as showcasing how eBay helps him prepare for his big weekend ahead.
By featuring a genuine car enthusiast and showcasing their passion, the campaign highlights how eBay supports people in pursuing what they love, rooted in emotional storytelling and authenticity. Featuring a relatable and likeable personality helps bring authenticity to the content, which is a quality within eBay’s brand values.
