Description
It’s Always Milk O’Clock
MilkUP and Academy open Cafe Milk O’Clock, serving up dairy-centric eats, Milk Raves, and limited-edition merch for two weekends in Toronto.
A Milk & Cereal Rave. A conveyor belt of limited-edition merch. Creamy alfredo bombs, smoky mozza sticks and strawberries-and-cream dirty sodas.
This September, MilkUP Ontario is packing all of it into Cafe Milk O’Clock, a two-weekend Toronto pop-up created with independent agency Academy that turns an entire day — from breakfast through midnight snack — into a round-the-clock dairy experience.
Milk, anytime.
Guests grab a tray and make their way through dairy-centric takes on breakfast, lunch, dinner and a midnight snack: creamy alfredo bombs, smoky mozza sticks, pumpkin spice latte muffins, buttery chocolate chip cookies and strawberries-and-cream dirty sodas. Beyond the cafeteria bar, they can play a gachapon machine for a prize, collect limited-edition merch from a conveyor belt and come back for an evening Milk & Cereal Rave with a live DJ.
No menu. No decisions. Just milk, the way Gen Z actually wants it.
The ease is intentional. September is a major transition point for Gen Z, as school resumes, new careers launch, and paths diverge. With so much in flux, Cafe Milk O’Clock is built around something that doesn’t need overthinking: milk is always there for you, a reliable constant at any time of day.
“Cafe Milk O'Clock celebrates the role milk already plays in the daily lives of Gen Z in Ontario – milk is quite literally there at all times of the day, whether it’s in their regular routine, elevating their most special occasions, or grounding them through some of life’s biggest changes,” said Julieta Mandelbaum, Brand and Partnership Director, Dairy Farmers of Ontario. “The annual MilkUP post-to-pay pop-up has become a highly anticipated experience for Gen Z in Ontario, and we’ve done this by tapping into the culture and moments that matter most to our audience.”
That thinking carries through the experience itself. There are no menus; the cafeteria-style setup keeps ordering simple, and dawn-to-dusk window graphics reinforce the idea that there’s no wrong time for milk. Less time deciding. More time eating, playing and hanging out.
“The opportunity was to turn a very simple truth — milk is always there — into something much bigger and more playful,” says Chelsey Burnside, Executive Creative Director, Academy. “We took away the menus and the overthinking, then filled the space with genuinely delicious foo and surprises that give people a reason to hang out. It’s Milk O’Clock whenever you decide it is.”
Milk O’Clock doesn’t end at 9 p.m.
The physical cafe runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., but the idea keeps going overnight. From 9 p.m. to 9 a.m., people can DM a 🥛 to @milkupontario on Instagram for limited-time food-delivery discount codes.
After a run, on a lunch break or scrolling at 2 a.m., there’s a milk moment waiting either way.
A summer of Milk O’Clock
Cafe Milk O’Clock is the culmination of MilkUP’s 2026 It’s Always Milk O’Clock campaign, which positions milk as a reliable constant in a world flooded with options.
Throughout the summer, MilkUP brought that idea to Gen Z through social and IRL experiences. The brand showed up at concerts at RBC Amphitheatre in partnership with Live Nation, followed by a 24-hour immersive billboard at Dundas and Ossington on the longest day of the year.
Then came The Shift, a four-part social-first series following the comedic realities of a motley crew of baristas connecting over milk in a cafe setting and teasing the experience to come.
Before Cafe Milk O’Clock opens to the public, MilkUP will host a preview for 100 creators. Select paid creator partnerships will extend the “no menus, no decisions” idea across TikTok and Instagram, supported by paid media.
Cafe Milk O’Clock continues a four-year collaboration between MilkUP and Academy focused on championing milk’s irreplaceable value to Gen Z through culturally coded, social-first work and experiences. Previous campaigns include Big Moo’d Market (2022), MilkUP Moo’Seum (2023), MilkUP Dairy Chill and MilkUP Cownty Fair (2024), and Camp MilkUP (2025).
