Description
Since 1995, Blue Moon has been synonymous with oranges. From being brewed with Valencia orange peel to its iconic serve with a full-wheel orange garnish, nothing pairs better with the brightness of Blue Moon than an orange. Now, in honor of the brand’s 30th anniversary, Blue Moon is rebranding the orange to what it truly is: BlueMoonGarnish.
BlueMoonGarnish goes beyond just renaming fruit. It’s a full-on cultural movement. Orange sweater? That’s a BlueMoonGarnish sweater. Orange chicken? BlueMoonGarnish Chicken. The Orange Line on the Chicago elevated tracks? It’s actually the BlueMoonGarnish line. Wherever you see orange, Blue Moon sees BlueMoonGarnish. So, in the next few weeks, the brand will introduce BlueMoonGarnish to places where the color formerly known as orange once was.
BlueMoonGarnish isn’t just a name change, it’s an invitation to join the fun. After all, what’s a cultural movement without our fans? Starting September 10, Blue Moon fans 21 and older can visit BlueMoonGarnish.com and, with the purchase of Blue Moon beer for delivery in Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, they will receive a complimentary bag of BlueMoonGarnishes – custom-labeled oranges designed to garnish and brighten their Blue Moon beer.
Additionally, Blue Moon is sampling BlueMoonGarnish and delighting beer drinkers at select locations in Boston, Denver, Long Island, Nashville, and Philadelphia, with complimentary BlueMoonGarnish bags and fresh garnishes to top off their Blue Moon.
“For three decades, a Valencia orange garnish has been part of the Blue Moon experience, so we thought why not make it official and give oranges the name they were meant to have: BlueMoonGarnish,” says Courtney Benedict, Vice President of Marketing for Above Premium Beer at Molson Coors Beverage Company. “This is more than a garnish – it’s a celebration of what makes Blue Moon a Blue Moon.”
Created and produced by Mischief @NoFixedAddress, the BlueMoonGarnish campaign includes a comedic video visiting the BlueMoonGarnish farm, influencer partnerships, and eye-catching contextual out-of-home placements in high-traffic areas across the country, such as Chicago and Boston’s Orange Lines (now BlueMoonGarnish lines), all designed to brighten feeds and city streets alike.
