In China, mobile phone addiction has become a significant social issue. In 2023, individuals checked their phones an average of 116.3 times per day and spent approximately 7.2 hours on their devices. This behavior has caused many families to fall into silence during shared moments. Yeco Coco Chicken Restaurant staged the #AMealAgainstSilence live sculpture performance art on International Day of Families. In a visually stunning form, it shows the common social phenomenon that family members are addicted to their mobile phones at dinner and the table is as still as a statue. The contrast between the hot food and the still figures is encouraging people to put down their mobile phones, communicate positively with family and friends, and not to silence love.
