Yixu Charity Turns China’s Rarest Tea into a Vehicle for Giving
Lao Ban Zhang, often called The King of Pu’er, is one of the world’s most prized teas—its spring cakes fetching thousands per piece. But in the same Yunnan mountains where this luxury is born, children still walk miles through mud to reach school.
Founded by two young brothers, Yixu Charity partnered with premium tea brand Jiahe Woxiang and local collective Lao Ban Zhang No.103 to handcraft 50 traditional Pu’er tea cakes—not for collectors, but for compassion.
Each was auctioned online. The 100% proceeds went toward healthcare and education for underserved children in southwest China.
It’s not just tea.
It’s a rare tradition, repurposed.
And a simple reminder: value means more when it’s shared.
