Just realized this was from a school -- and wondered if, perhaps, we jaded ad folk shouldn't be a touch more helpful.

Let's start from the top:

Everyone's right. Your idea's shit. Why? Because 1) it's a tired, tired joke; and 2) it's not based on any sort of insight or truth.

Now to be brutally honest with yourself: You've seen this ad before. You know you have. Perhaps not line-for-line (ugh, that line -- I vomit), or in illustration form. But you've seen it. And yet you still decided to run with it. Bad form, especially as a student, when you have every opportunity to do something that no client can shoot down (and believe me, that time fast approaches and long lasts).

Grow a pair. Do something interesting. And for god's sake, stop boring everyone.
