I love when people do ads thinking about their friends in the agency that talk about a show in the coffee. Im sure your friends are proud of ya.

The numbers are those of the series LOST, he's sitting behind a computer running DOS just like the one in the series, the post-it is a nice pun on the fact he musn't forget those numbers

So as long as the creative team can explain that to everyone who sees the ad, it'll be fine.

Waaaay too subtle for its own good. Pure award show fodder.

I agree, it's a very nice looking ad. With a great thought behind it, and it took me 2 minutes of Googling those numbers before I got the meaning of them :) But the audience will be oblivious to its meaning. This is prestige work, for the metals only. (And a good try in my opinion)

Hahah. I watch the show and i always wondered, how the hell do they remember that combination like it was their cell-phone number!??? This is funny, but it's borrowed interest that only targets a small group of people. It's a very student-y ad.

Considering how popular the show is, I'd hardly say that this "only targets a small group of people".

The zeitgeist? Bullshit DJ.

You're just a stinking hippy who spends his days ranting about pointless left wing ideologies.

And yet, most people did get it AFTER it was explained in text. That says something about the so-called target group. It's too difficult to get on the image alone IMHO

Can't relate to the ad but if it makes so much sense for Lost viewers (no pun intended) it's wise to publish it in the right surrounding. If they did that... good job. Otherwise... get Lost (pun intended)

Well I must agree that commercial-wise it isnt hitting the market because of the relatively small group of people who will actually get this one. But I dont watch LOST, maybe that I've seen an episode or two. But I did recognise those numbers straight away because I read about the numbers and was intrigued. I don't know why but the story behind those numbers got my intention because of their mysterious meaning.

This is obvious Award-material. If it wins I don't know (but I personally like it, smart thinking)

research how large the viewing audience for lost is, and youll find this is not a small target.

Im not accussing them on the fact wether they did or did not research the quantity of Lost watchers. I'm merely saying that if they want to sell Post-it stickers the gimmick is 'lost' (haha) on a lot of people who do not watch the episode. And most big compagnies want their products to hit that spark with everyone. Not just the 1/3 of the population who watches Lost. (and no I do not know the numbers of viewers) I'm merely saying that they lose a big percentage of possible buyers by using a picture that you can only understand if watching the series (and are into those numbers)

But then again, for award shows this is good

granted this is most likely award show driven..and im not accusing them of not researching either.

while obviously the entire population doesnt watch the show...it just sounds as if your underestimating the audience that do in fact watch tune in to lost....

Well, you conviced me. (WOW I'm one of the rare people on the internet that accept it when they are wrong :) )

Yes maybe I underestimated the size of the number of viewers. But at least we agree that it is award material. I like it though.

Thanks for the feedback
