Description
Even though there have been thousands of documented hospitalizations due to pulmonary issues and many vape-related deaths (see NIH studies), vaping is such a new phenomenon that there aren’t many studies showing conclusively that it causes cancer, heart disease, popcorn lung, etc. Despite the (current) lack of decisive evidence, almost every reputable health organization on the planet recommends that no one should vape—especially young people. Does vaping help some people stop smoking cigarettes? Perhaps. Maybe vaping is better for you than cigarettes? Maybe it’s worse? The point is that no one really knows for sure. But an appeal to ignorance is not an argument that lends any support to vaping. It goes against our most basic commonsense because we all know where this is headed. The pro-vaping rhetoric all sounds eerily familiar to the propaganda and pseudo-science first employed by Big Tobacco when the real research hadn’t caught up to what we already knew deep down to be true—namely that, compulsively inhaling smoke made by burning chemicals directly into the mouth, throat and lungs is probably bad for us. So, until the day when medical science has had enough time to run their tests, YOU'RE the experiment.
