Beefeater Jamiroquai

‘Virtual Insanity’ 30th Anniversary

Agency: Lucky Generals

Description

Beefeater 0.0 has partnered with Jamiroquai and Lucky Generals to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic ‘Virtual Insanity’ music video with a playful reimagining that finally answers what Jay Kay has been reaching for all these years. Directed by Julien & Quentin through Magna Studios, the campaign reveals the answer to be a Beefeater 0.0 drink, using the moment as the starting point for a series of new adventures that reinforce the brand’s ‘Get More With 0.0’ platform.

Honouring the original video's innovative style, the production relied on practical effects rather than CG or AI, constructing nine physical sets and using in-camera choreography, moving floors and performances choreographed by Jay Kay himself. The result recreates the spirit of the original while expanding it into new environments, celebrating creativity, movement and the playful energy that made the video a cultural landmark.

The campaign positions Beefeater 0.0 as a drink that supports moderation without sacrificing enjoyment, aligning with the growing trend of alternating between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. By presenting Jay Kay as a modern ambassador for moderation, the work suggests that choosing 0.0 is about getting more out of nights, music and social experiences rather than giving something up. The campaign will roll out across key international markets, supported by social content, influencers and activity across platforms including Reddit and Discord.
